We started with a quick stop in Grandy for those vibrant zinnia flowers before heading straight to the pier for her beautiful beach portraits. This Kitty Hawk Fishing Pier senior session had it all — sunshine, bold color, ocean breezes, and the prettiest golden glow.
And yes… it was HOT.
Like nearly 100 degrees hot. 🔥 But Lydia handled it like an absolute champ. You’d never know how steamy it was, because she stayed glowing, smiling, and totally in her element the entire session.
Zinnia Fields in Grandy — Pure Floral Magic
Our first stop was the vibrant zinnia field, which provided the perfect pop of color to start her session. After the flowers, we headed down to the Kitty Hawk Fishing Pier, one of my favorite Outer Banks senior portrait locations. Between the soft shadows under the pier, the sandy textures, and the waves rolling in, Lydia gave us such a beautiful variety of looks.

Cooling Off With Ocean Water + Sunset Glow
After sweating through the heat, we wrapped up the evening exactly how you should during a summer OBX senior session — by cooling down in the ocean! Lydia concluded her shoot with the most relaxed and beautiful water shots. Lying down in the waves, soaking in the breeze, and enjoying the last bits of sunshine… absolutely dreamy.
These final images are soft, glowy, and full of that signature golden-hour warmth that makes the Outer Banks so magical.
